How to use
- Type how many minutes you need — decimals work too, so 0.25 means fifteen seconds.
- Press Start. The big clock counts down second by second; press Pause to freeze it and Start again to resume.
- When the clock reaches zero you will see "Time's up!" and hear a short chime; press Reset to prepare the next round.
Frequently asked questions
Does the timer keep counting if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown is anchored to your device clock, so it stays accurate in the background; the display simply catches up when you come back. Keep the tab open and the volume on so the chime can play.
Will it make a sound when time is up?
Yes, a short two-tone chime is generated with the Web Audio API right in your browser — no audio files are downloaded. If your device is muted or the browser blocks autoplay, you will still see the "Time's up!" message.
Can I time more than an hour?
Yes. The clock switches from minutes:seconds to hours:minutes:seconds automatically once you set more than sixty minutes.
Why does it show 0:01 during the final second?
The display rounds the remaining time up, so the last full second still shows 0:01 and only the actual end shows 0:00. That way the timer never reads 0:00 before it has truly finished.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The timer runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type and no timing data is stored, logged or sent to any server.
